spanish tutor & translator

I provide the necessary grammar instruction, explanations, examples and drills.  You still have to go to class, do the daily homework and take the tests and quizzes.

I can simulate tests and quizzes to help you overcome test anxiety and show you what to watch out for.  You will still need to do the basic vocabulary memorization of definition and spelling.

If you need to cancel or change appointment times, please contact me by email or phone or have someone from home let me know.

What Students Do to Make the Tutoring Experience Work

Top 10 Reasons for Tutoring

1.  School life has become much more demanding than it ever has been.  Time is precious and expectations are high for students.  Sometimes a tutor can help when a student feels overwhelmed by their workload.

2.  Working with a tutor can help bridge a gap if a student or a parent feels that it is awkward talking to the classroom teacher.

3.  Many classroom teachers themselves are feeling overworked and overwhelmed.  They have little quality time to offer outside the traditional classroom.

4.  Sometimes it is deemed a conflict of interest by school systems for regular teachers to tutor their own student(s).

5.  Even though my subject area is Spanish, general organizational and study skills are presented which might help for other areas of study.

6.  Parents and other adults sometimes do not remember the information they learned from their school days or the info is presented differently, so they find that their help is inadequate.

7.  Tutoring helps with retention of information taught in the classroom throughout the week.

8.  Tutoring provides some enrichment and a competitive edge.

9.  Tutoring is personalized and centered on one student at a time, not 20-30 people in a room.

10.  As long as the student is willing to do their part too, their grade will improve!
